About ClearDNS
ClearDNS is an anonymous-by-design internet filtering platform that gives families, teams and organizations customizable control across devices without traditional user accounts. Built around cryptographic policy and device tokens, ClearDNS helps block unwanted categories such as adult content, malware, phishing, gambling, piracy, ads, trackers and distractions at the DNS layer, while reducing the need for emails, passwords and personal identity profiles.
The claim, stated precisely: ClearDNS is the first internet filter you can use, and pay for, without an account, an email address, or a name. Identity is a cryptographic token generated on your device. There is no account to breach, subpoena, or sell, because there is no account at all.
Fast Facts
Anonymous payments supported through Apple Pay, Google Pay, and the app stores. Encrypted DNS via DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS. DNSSEC validated.
Plans
Every new policy starts with a free 24-hour trial with every feature unlocked, no payment details required. Paid plans, per user per month:

Story Angles
- The end of the account. A paid subscription service with no login, no email, and no password. Identity is a 33-character cryptographic token, and payment stays anonymous through Apple Pay and Google Pay.
- The GAFAM 55% figure. By our own network measurements, tracking, analytics and telemetry endpoints of Google, Apple, Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft account for roughly 55% of the background connections a typical device makes. A full methodology report is in progress; early access available to journalists on request.
- Family protection without surveillance. Parents get DNS-level control over what reaches their children's devices, shared through a QR code, without creating profiles on the children or themselves.
